even though i know we technically have a few weeks of summer left after labor day, the holiday weekend always feels like the end of the chapter, do you know what i mean?
this year, an even bigger chapter is ending this labor day weekend: my 20s. my 30th birthday(!) is on monday. & while i’m so excited for what’s in store for my 30s (more on that later this week, promise!), no longer being able to identify as a “twenty-something” has been a tough pill to swallow.
but! more on that later. promise!
so, anyway, i say we make this end-of-summer weekend a little bit sweeter.

you don’t need to be an expert builder-of-cheese-boards. you don’t need to have a crazy sixth sense about how to pair flavors together, or even know a ton about cheeses for that matter.
berries & cheese just work.
& when it comes to berries, you honestly cannot beat the quality & flavor of Driscoll’s. i’m such a fan.

i’m sure i sound like a broken record at this point, but i’m practically the president of the “cheese boards don’t need to be hard to make” camp. this summer berry cheese board is no exception.
seriously! you want to go for a balance of flavors & textures, & then you pile them all onto the same board for a snack or party appetizer that is always such a crowd-pleaser.

here’s how i make a summer berry cheese board:
- pick your berries! i went for a combination of Driscoll’s berries. strawberries for sweetness, raspberries since they’re so juicy & cute, & blueberries for some pretty color. any other berries or fruits you love would work well too – choose your faves.
- pair with a few cheeses: because Driscoll’s berries are so sweet & perfect, i think it’s really important to choose a variety of cheeses with different flavor profiles that complement the berries & prevent this berry cheese board from feeling too sweet. i went with a combination of goat cheese, sharp white cheddar, & whipped honey ricotta (omg). the goat cheese is so tangy and perfect, especially with strawberries – you could even drizzle some balsamic over top, if you wanted to take it to the next level!
- add in the crunch: aka crackers & nuts! any nuts would do the trick, but i went with marcona almonds, since almonds pair so well with berries & marcona almonds always feel a smidge bit more elegant on a pretty end of summer cheese board.
this is what end of summer dreams are made of. i’m convinced.

Description
a summer berry cheese board filled with strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, & the perfect cheeses to pair with cheese boards. this summer berry cheese board is an easy & fun appetizer or snack to serve at parties & barbeques all summer long!
Ingredients
- Driscoll’s strawberries
- Driscoll’s raspberries
- Driscoll’s blueberries
- 6 ounces goat cheese
- 6 ounces sharp white cheddar, sliced
- 6 ounces ricotta (whole milk is best)
- 1 tablespoon honey
- ¼ teaspoon Kosher salt
- for serving, as desired: marcona almonds (or nuts of choice), crackers of choice
Instructions
- Make the whipped ricotta: Add the ricotta, honey, and salt to a food processor and process for 1-2 minutes, until totally smooth & creamy, stopping to scrape down the sides of the food processor as needed. Transfer to a bowl and top with an extra drizzle of honey, as desired.
- Assemble the summer berry cheese board: Grab your favorite cheese board, large dish, or platter. I like to start with the cheeses. Place them around the board, slicing them or breaking them apart as desired. Fill in the spaces with berries, nuts, & crackers. I find it’s easiest to start with the largest components, then fill in the extra spaces throughout the board with the smaller components. Have fun with it! Enjoy!

- This is really just a wireframe. A summer berry cheese board will have any number of these components, but feel free to have fun with it & add in your ultimate cheese board faves!!
