Stud the pork shoulder with sliced garlic & season generously for tons of flavor!
Add the pork to a Dutch oven & sear until nicely browned.
Nestle onions around pork. Sprinkle citrus zest, ground cumin & oregano over top. Pour in orange & lime juice, & beer. Cover & braise on stovetop for 3-4 hrs.
Transfer braised carnitas to a cutting board & use forks or tongs to shred. Return back to the pot & stir to combine with cooking liquid.
Place shredded carnitas on a foil-lined baking sheet & broil on high for 4-5 minutes turning the pan halfway through for crispy texture. Serve as tacos, burritos, & more!
